Salted Caramel Cold Brew Recipe

Naturally sweet and seriously smooth, this salted caramel cold brew recipe is your new salty sweet summer drink.

We're huge fans of cold brew coffee: using time instead of heat to brew our speciality coffee grounds means you can preserve more of their incredible flavour notes and aromas and avoid the bitterness and acidity that you can sometimes get from hot brewing, resulting in the silky smooth texture that cold brew is famous for.

This Salted Caramel Cold Brew recipe is super easy to make and you only need a few ingredients. We'd recommend using Grind Caramel Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate for this so that you can make your salted caramel cold brew in seconds with no mess and no wait. It's exactly what our coffee concentrates are made for.

Our Caramel Cold Brew Concentrate is naturally sweetened. No milk, no sugar, just café-quality cold-brewed coffee.

What you’ll need to make one serving of salted caramel cold brew:

How to Make a Salted Caramel Cold Brew

A step-by-step guide:

Step 1

Fill a glass with ice cubes. If you want nice big ice cubes (who doesn't?), use our Grind Ice Cube Tray

Step 2

Add 62ml of caramel cold brew concentrate and mix with 62ml cold water or milk, depending on how creamy you’d like it to be. To make it a salted caramel cold brew latte, add more milk.

Step 3

Add a pinch of sea salt to make it salted caramel.

Step 4

Add a drizzle of caramel syrup if you’d like it a little sweeter. If you’ve made your own cold brew using our cold brew bottle, add around 20ml caramel syrup. Not sure how? Learn how to make your own cold brew at home

Do Cold Brews Have More Caffeine?

Yes, cold brew often has a higher concentration of caffeine than traditional hot-brewed coffee. Cold-brewing has a much longer steeping time, which allows for more caffeine from the coffee grounds to be extracted.

However, using a cold brew coffee concentrate means you have more control over the caffeine in your at-home cold brew. Each serving (62ml) of Grind Caramel Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate contains 101mg of caffeine. A regular hot-brewed coffee contains 70mg - 120mg caffeine, depending on the blend and roast, so we sit in the middle.

The actual caffeine content of your cold brew drink will depend on how it’s diluted before you consume it.

How Many Calories in a Salted Caramel Cold Brew?

If you’re using our Grind Caramel Cold Brew Concentrate, this will be a low-calorie treat, with the concentrate having only 11 calories per 100ml.

The actual calories in your salted caramel cold brew will depend on what type of milk you use and how much syrup you use: made using 62ml of our caramel cold brew concentrate and 100ml semi-skimmed milk, this recipe has around 50 calories.

If you’re using your own cold brew coffee and caramel syrup, the total calories in your salted caramel cold brew will increase to around 120 calories depending on the caramel syrup you use.

What Does Salted Caramel Cold Brew Taste Like?

The flavour profile of salted caramel cold brew is rich, salty, and sweet. The more intense flavours of coffee are balanced by a smooth texture from the cold brewing method and by the sweet, buttery notes of caramel.
